I discovered Notion around 2023 and loved it straight away — the pages, the way you could tuck one page inside another, the clean background and typography.
Writing there didn't feel like opening a word processor to produce a formal document. It felt like opening a space that was yours — somewhere to think, collect ideas and keep personal notes.
Eventually I reached the limits of the free plan, and paying for it wasn't something I could justify at that point in my life. So I built BH Notes: a simpler space with the essentials I actually wanted.

Everything here works today in your web browser, on desktop or phone.
Write in blocks
Headings, lists, to-dos, quotes, tables, code with highlighting, pictures and files. Type / to add any of them, or use Markdown shortcuts as you go.
Pages inside pages
Nest pages as deep as you like and see them as a tree in the sidebar. A course, a project, a whole life — each with its own corner.
Connected notes
Type @ to link another page. Each page shows what links back to it, so related ideas find each other.
Find anything fast
Search every page from one shortcut. Star favorites to keep them at the top of your sidebar.
Saves as you type
Changes save automatically. If your connection drops, a local copy is kept and saving retries once you're back online.
Share and publish
Invite someone by email to edit a page with you, or publish a page to the web as a read-only link.
Your notes stay yours
Export any page as Markdown or text, or download your whole workspace as a folder of Markdown files with its pictures.
Comfortable to read
Light and dark themes, adjustable note text size, templates to start from, and a trash you can restore from. Works on your phone's browser too.
